The Rock Hill Economic Develop Corporation hired Basic Cable Creative to create a 17-part economic development series profiling exceptional entrepreneurs and innovative businesses. The campaign title: "Connecting Bright Minds + Big Ideas" needed an adaptable campaign design which could illustrate their message through animation.
The logo I designed in Photoshop and After Effects completes a frame around Bright Minds + Big Ideas, literally connecting them within the larger picture. In the entrepreneur series the "Bright Minds" is highlighted and the RH logo appears. In the innovation through business series "Big Ideas" remains and the RH logo appears. This design was also used as a still image across the entire video series.
The intro animation for this artist residency documentary illustrates the impact the visiting artists had on the Davidson College community. Red is a dominant color in both Davidson College's identity as well as Baik Art. The period in the Baik Art mark becomes a sphere (in reference to the global community) which grows larger and covers the entire screen to reveal the names of each artist involved in the residency.
On the left is an illustrated gif animation I created for artist, Gabrielle Wolfe's opening reception with The Dwelling. The magnets interaction speak to the artists' thought that individuals retain memories and physical objects from people and places after those relationships or situations are gone.
On the right is a video collage created for an exhibition of work by street artist, Smokey Contraband. The controversial subject matter and guerrilla methods drew me to this vintage cigarette ad. By editing audio from a 1950's mental health PSA and this Marlboro ad, I created an outlaw persona to prepare guests for the irreverent nature of the exhibition.
